Testimonials I have had a very helpful and rewarding experience working with Joyce. I needed assistance in making housing decisions for my older sister Margaret. She was in her late 80’s and reluctant to move from her home. Joyce helped me to approach the subject tactfully and most importantly in ways that  would help Margaret understand the importance of safety and taking care of her daily needs and protecting as much of her independence as possible. Her approach was sensitive and no nonsense. We selected a one bedroom apartment in a local retirement community that allowed Margaret to maintain her much desired privacy but also addressed my concerns about proper nutrition and medication monitoring. I called upon Joyce again after Margaret’s hospital stay and her health declined and she needed more one on one care. Joyce visited several board and care homes with me and highlighted the challenges and benefits of moving Margaret. I am pleased to say that my sister is receiving excellent care and can still read quietly in her room or interact with others in a setting that provides her with caring 24 hour staff; grooming assistance and most importantly peace of mind I am grateful that Joyce helped me and my family through this challenging time.                                                                                        Malcolm F.
	I shared some concerns I had about my mother who lived back east with a friend. He referred me to Joyce at Mature Moves The harsh winters and living in a two story walk up alone was no longer the ideal setting for her. . Mom visited us every year and we have a close relationship but I wasn’t sure what direction to take or where to start in looking for a retirement community. Joyce met me and my husband. She conducted an assessment of mom’s needs and abilities. She wanted to know what our specific needs regarding my mom’s well being most concerned us and what specific interests' mom participated in. Mother has always been fiercely independent and we did not want to cramp her style. Church attendance has always been an important part of her life, and we did not want mother to feel abandoned or warehoused. I had limited exposure to services available in our area. I discussed our situation with Joyce and she gave us some excellent input and knew exactly which questions to ask. My husband and I visited communities and she helped us figure out which one would meet mothers need the best. Joyce took us to places with lovely grounds and private patios as mother enjoyed gardens. We made the decision to start the search without involving Mom until we had a clearer understanding of what we could offer her. After selecting a senior apartment community that provided meals and twenty four hour emergency response we invited Mom to come and tour the community with us. Joyce suggested we visit during lunchtime and have a meal with her so she could get a realistic view of what a day in a senior community was like. Mom was a bit reluctant at first but after seeing the apartment and having a family meal in the dining room she felt confident that she could retain her independence, socialize if she wanted to and take advantage of the transportation they provided for their residents. I am grateful to Joyce for her input. She helped ease the discussion and decision process. Mom is thriving in her new environment. It is great to visit her .She enjoys her lovely apartment She continues to enjoy watching her favorite daytime shows and eating with her new friends.                                                                                         E.S.
